Accessing America Online (AOL) by connecting through The Internet Connection is faster and better than dialing into the AOL access number. In order to access AOL through The Internet Connection you will need the following:

How do I connect? | |
Step 1: |
Log on to The Internet You must dial into and log on to The Internet Connection before you sign on to AOL. (This allows your computer to accept TCP/IP connections.)

Step 2: | Configure AOL to connect via TCP/IP |
Windows -- To configure AOL to connect via The Internet Connection using TCP/IP: |
1. | Sign off America Online. | |
2. | On the AOL Sign On screen, click Setup. | |
3. | Click Edit Location. | |
4. | In the Network list box, click TCP/IP. | |
5. | Click Save. |
AOL 3.0 for Macintosh -- To configure AOL to connect via The Internet Connection (using TCP/IP):
AOL 2.6/2.7 for Macintosh -- To configure AOL to connect via The Internet Connection (using TCP/IP):
Step 3: Log on to AOL via The Internet Connection
Make sure the NETWORK box says TCP/IP in your setup as per Step 2.
This process will not interfere with the use of other Internet tools such as:
